Description:
This report presents findings from a study on community knowledge, perceptions, and awareness related to the proposed Uukwaludhi Conservancy (PUC) in the Omusati and Kunene regions. Funded by the LIFE Programme, the study provides baseline information to assist the Uukwaludhi Management Committee and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in planning and implementing the conservancy. It assesses natural resource use, identifies legitimate stakeholder groups, examines decision‑making processes, and evaluates community understanding of and support for conservancy formation. The report analyses household demographics, economic activities, resource use patterns, governance structures, and local opinions regarding the Uukwaludhi Management Committee. It concludes with recommendations drawn from survey data and case studies conducted around the Okashana core area.
