Description:
This report presents findings from a study on community knowledge, perceptions, and awareness regarding the Proposed Uukwaludhi Conservancy (PUC), located primarily in Omusati Region with portions extending into Kunene. Funded by the LIFE Programme, the study provides baseline information to support planning and implementation by the Uukwaludhi Management Committee and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. It identifies natural resource use patterns, the types and quantities of resources harvested, seasonal grazing and water‑use dynamics, stakeholder groups and their interests, and decision‑making processes related to resource management. The study also assesses community understanding of, and support for, conservancy formation, including perceptions of representation and the functioning of the Uukwaludhi Management Committee.
