Description:
UNAM’s Agri-PV Project hosted an educational workshop at Ogongo Campus, training 95 participants, farmers, researchers, and officials in climate-resilient agriculture and solar-integrated farming. Supported by GIZ INSPIRED AGRI-PV, the session spotlighted agrivoltaics as a sustainable dual-use solution for crop production and energy generation. Participants gained hands-on insights into tomato cultivation under Agri-PV panels, drip irrigation, pest management, and material sourcing. Led by Dr. Petja Dobreva and Prof. Simon Awala, the event emphasized farmer-centered capacity building, fostering long-term resilience in water-scarce regions and advancing food-energy security in Namibia.
