Description:
The 2024 UNAM Oshipe Festival, held at the Main Campus, celebrated Aawambo heritage through a vibrant blend of cultural rituals, traditional cuisine, and academic exploration. Led by fourth-year Oshiwambo Language students under the guidance of Prof. Petrus Mbenzi, the event showcased sustainable food practices and symbolic elements like the marula and mopane trees. More than a festive occasion, the Oshipe Festival embodied intergenerational knowledge transfer, linking students to ancestral wisdom and reaffirming UNAM’s commitment to cultural preservation and indigenous education.
