Two University of Namibia (UNAM) students, Gerhard Kapweya and Bjorn Beukes, embarked on a transformative academic and cultural journey to Trento, Italy, as part of the “Decolonising our Heritage” Winter School. Sponsored by the University of Trento, their experience was marked by engaging debates on colonial restitution, enriching cultural excursions, and humorous misadventures with local bus stops due to language barriers. Their story highlights the value of international academic exchange and the personal growth it fosters
