Abstract
This study investigated the knowledge management practices at Omalaeti Media Group in Namibia. A mixed-method approach research was used to meet the objectives of the study. A combination of quantitative and qualitative design was employed for this study. The quantitative research used survey questionnaires, while qualitative research used interviews making use of the content analysis. Convenient and purposive sampling was used for this study. The research consisted of 31 respondents. The main objective of this study was to investigate the existence of any knowledge objectives: To evaluate the degree of importance of KM for the organization, To discover the management practices at Omalaeti Media Group. It was supported by the following different ways on how information technologies can apply to KM practices, To determine any interventions that could be employed to improve KM practices, To establish the extent to which employees support KM and lastly to investigate if there are any barriers to KM. The findings of this research have revealed that employees at Omalaeti Media Group should
gain a deeper understanding on knowledge management, they might have it in practice but don't really know what it is. Management confirmed that the employees hardly take part in workshops and trainings and this brings barriers in the creation of knowledge. There is also a need for new ICT's to practice KM . The study also recommends that the organizations should find out how to benefit from knowledge mapping to improve the existing KM practices they have in Omalaeti. The organization should become a learning centre and provide facilities for
knowledge management. Some of the facilities include workshops, knowledge management conferences and refresher courses, among others.
