This research paper examines the effectiveness of the current economic reporting styles used by the Namibian media, based on the value of what it contributes in society, its language, and the involvement it has to audience education about the Namibian economy and financial knowledge. The main findings of the study was that the Namibian media is partially effective in delivering economic/ business news, but mainly only caters for audiences who have a previous knowledge in economic matters through education and career types.The recommendations of this study is for the media to simplify its jargon and make news digestible for both the economically literate and those equally economically illiterate. Creating a platform for the audience to contribute to the changes that will cater for their information needs is also a vital recommendation.
