dc.description.abstract | Results of the study show that the khutas have a fisheries regulation system whereby the use of some fishing gears and fishing methods is prohibited e. g. matuwa, kuyambisa Iambi etc. However, it was observed that several methods are used in fishing including those that are prohibited. For fishing gears that are permitted there is no restriction as to how many nets one can own and use at time. The regulation systems have become inefficient in recent years so there is a need for khutas to seek to improve and update their regulation system to keep up with the advancements in technologies and general knowledge | en_US |
