Providing information on teenage pregnancy among senior secondary school learners in Oshana region

Teenage pregnancy constitutes not only a health threat to the young teenage mothers and their offspring, but an impediment to national development. While teenage pregnancy is a problem in itself, it is also a consequence of other causes, social and economic. The multiple character of teenage pregnancy makes responses to it prone to misapplication. Such responses are often ignoring the fundamental causes of teenage pregnancy. Similarly, the emphasis has been on educating teenagers and ignoring the adults who also impregnate young girls. This study departs from this approach and emphasizes the understanding of the fundamental causes of teenage pregnancy. The study focuses teenage pregnancy in senior secondary schools in the Oshana region. This has two benefits. It allows for specific understanding of the causes, impacts of teenage pregnancy, since each region has its unique characteristics, socially, economically and demographically. This will facilitate specific solution to the teenage pregnancy problem in the Oshana region
