dc.description.abstract | The study assessed the impact of Educational Resources Information Centre (ERIC), Population Online (POPLINE), and EBSCOhost databases in the University of Namibia's (UNAM) Information and Learning Resource Centre (ILRC). The assessment was made using the diffusion of innovation theory with particular reference to popularity, relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. A questionnaire was distributed to 100 users of electronic databases drawn from lecturers and undergraduate students in faculties at UNAM main campus. Results indicate that the three CD-ROM databases are not popular mainly due to lack of awareness. The trialability of the databases is hampered by network problems and shortage of workstations. It is recommended that the ILRC should upgrade the network facilities and make provision to remote online databases via a library gateway | en_US |
