dc.description.abstract In Africa, the number of refugees has increased rapidly during the past years and African refugees pose today the largest problem the world has to face (Nobel G. 1987). As refugees flee their home countries and settle in the country of asylum, most of them loose contact with their home countries and with relatives left behind, leading to a life of great distress and uncertainty. Here the media role is vital. They can objectively supply and disseminate information that may improve the physical and mental well-being of refugees, assisting with camp management, being a pastoral tool for bodies working with refugees and provide refugees with information on their home countries. Thus, the objective of this study is to investigate whether refugees in Osire Refugee Camp can access the media to acquire information, for what purpose they use the information and how the information impacts them. Thus, both the qualitative and quantitative methods have been used to acquire the data en_US
