dc.description.abstract	Recent studies on Silver Kob (Argyrosomus inodorus) were uncertain about the spawning behaviour of two year olds. It was not known whether this age group contributes to the annual recruitment. A histological research study was conducted to establish whether any cellular or physiological differences exist in the gonads of different age groups during spawning. It was proved that two and six year olds are both capable of producing viable eggs. There is evidence that both age groups undergo partial spawning. This was confirmed by the sizes of the oocytes which varied from 20-160µm. The maturation process of oocytes was making steady progress from November 1999 to January 2000	en_US
