dc.description.abstract Abstract by author: en_US
dc.description.abstract This paper describes the results of an investigation into the deformed amphiboles of a small part of the Matchless Member and surrounding Kuiseb schists some 10km west of Windhoek. Four phases of deformation were identified en_US
dc.description.abstract Pressure solution processes were active during the first phase (Dl) to produce the dominant north-east, south-west trending spaced cleavage (S1). Extreme shortening accompanied this event. Subsequent thrusting produced complex F2-folding patterns, boundinage structures and transposition. Dl and D2 are axial planar. Later D3 crenulations and D4 kinking produced non penetrative structures en_US
