This study is primarily aimed at critically looking into the relationship between public health and human rights and assessing the influence of Namibian policy and legislation on HIV/AIDS in promoting a human- rights based approach to HIV/AIDS in Namibia. The general overview includes a theoretical analysis of the policies and legislation on HIV/AIDS in place in Namibia. Several interviews were conducted to look at the current problems of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and those working in this area. The study further looks at the implementation; monitoring and evaluation of the current policy and legislative framework on HIV/AIDS in Namibia, in an attempt to determine the extent of their effectiveness in promoting a human -rights based approach to HIV/AIDS in Namibia, in an effort to ensure the protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS |
