dc.description.abstract The study revealed that the youth are well informed on matters relating to HIV / AIDS, but still have problems of misconception and lack of accurate knowledge on the meaning, causes and preventative measures of the disease. Other findings reveal that cultural attitudes towards the disease and stigmatization still exist. Findings also revealed that several potential HIV infection risks stem from normal social demands for love, acceptance, peer pressure, and the quest for excitement and new experiences. Findings on the HIV / AIDS campaigns revealed that the campaigns are effective as they educate people on matters related to HIV / AIDS. However, some felt that campaigns that strategically target the youth, which incorporate the youth's ways of thinking and style, would be more effective en_US
