dc.description This study examines the socio‑economic conditions faced by Namibian exiles who returned to the country during the repatriation process of 1989–1990, following UN Resolution 435 and Namibia’s Independence in March 1990. While approximately 43,500 exiles were welcomed as heroes for their contribution to the liberation struggle, many encountered challenges in achieving economic self‑sufficiency after their return. The study explores the political and economic environment into which exiles were reintegrated and identifies factors influencing their post‑repatriation experiences and current living conditions. en_US
