On 24 June 2025, UNAM Library received 131 English-language books through the Read Japan Project, facilitated by The Nippon Foundation and the Embassy of Japan. The donation highlights a long-standing academic partnership between Japan and Namibia, enriching UNAM’s library with titles covering Japanese politics, society, literature, and art. Key figures, including Ambassador Shinichi Asazuma, Vice Chancellor Prof. Kenneth Matengu, and University Librarian Dr. Joseph Ndinoshiho, praised the cultural significance and educational impact of the initiative.
