dc.description Mr. Poland Amutenya Michael, staff member in the Department of Physics, Chemistry & Material Science at the University of Namibia (UNAM), was awarded Best PhD Oral Presentation in Applied Physics at the 68th South African Institute of Physics (SAIP) Annual Conference. Currently pursuing his PhD in solar photovoltaic (PV) technology at Nelson Mandela University (NMU), his research explores thermal and electrical behavior in partially shaded solar panels, contributing to enhanced safety and efficiency in renewable energy systems. Supported by a collaborative mentorship between UNAM and NMU, including engagement with PVinsight, Poland is also working to establish a PV laboratory for student training and industry consultation, furthering Namibia’s energy resilience and academic innovation. en_US
