dc.description Professor Petrus Angula Mbenzi, a scholar of Oshiwambo language and culture, has devoted his academic career to the preservation and advancement of indigenous linguistic heritage. As UNAM’s longest-serving full-time Oshiwambo lecturer, he has championed the study of Oshindonga, oral literature, and traditional knowledge systems, contributing to Namibia’s cultural scholarship through teaching, broadcasting, and numerous publications. His journey—from a mission school in Oniipa to a PhD in Rhetoric—illustrates the importance of indigenous language studies in promoting identity, values, and social cohesion.
