dc.description In a pioneering move for Africa, the University of Namibia (UNAM), in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy and Namibia’s Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO), signed a Letter of Intent on 17 July 2024 to launch intellectual property (IP) training for diplomats and foreign service officials. This initiative, led by the Namibia School of Diplomatic Studies at UNAM, will offer short courses on IP rights management and diplomacy, equipping officials with the knowledge to navigate global trade, innovation, and multilateral negotiations. The programme marks a strategic step in strengthening Namibia’s diplomatic capacity and fostering IP literacy across sectors. en_US
