dc.description From February 25–28, 2024, the University of Namibia hosted the 11th annual conference of the Consortium of New Sub-Sahara African Medical Schools (CONSAMS) in Windhoek. This marked the first in-person gathering since the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing together delegates from 16 countries and reaffirming the consortium’s commitment to collaborative medical education across Africa. Founded in 2011, CONSAMS has grown into a network of over 130 institutions, promoting innovative curricula, research, and south-to-south partnerships. Themed “CONSAMS Reboot,” the 2024 conference focused on revitalizing in-person collaboration, digital innovation, and sustainable healthcare training. Key discussions included one-health initiatives, medical toxicology, and the contextualization of medical education to meet regional needs. en_US
