The results showed that the crude protein of both indigenous and exotic birds were similar on average, (P0. 05). It was also found that the yolk colour of indigenous birds is lighter relative to the yolk colour of exotic birds. There were however, a significant difference (P0. 05) in the weights, shell thickness, shell colour, yolk colour of eggs from indigenous and exotic chickens. It was consequently concluded that different management systems can have a significant impact on the characteristics of eggs
