This study was to analyze the factors affecting goat's production among communal farmer in Omusati Region. The following information were collected; personal details, farming activities, production characteristics, marketing, extension services, flock composition, contributors to losses or death of goats and goats social contributions, As the aim of the project research is to assess factors affecting goat production in the region, the following parameters of production were looked at namely kidding rate, and number of goats per individual farmer. The questionnaires were used during information collection, by using purposive or judgmental method (non - probability); where by 60 small stock farmers were sampled and interviewed orally in the area of the study, which representing the whole region. Most interviewed were illiterate, about 68.33 have only primary education, 18.33 have secondary, 5 have tertiary education, while 8.33never attend school. Aged were between 25 and 60+ years. The sampling frame; Data of this study were collected specifically from the following constituencies; Onesi, Outapi, Anamulenge, and Okalongo constituency, The sample size, 15 households were interviewed from each constituency (sampling frame). Goat production is mainly activity for both male and female, but male are more dominating. Information where delivered from a total of about 2289 animals goats), where by 1461 were does, 554 were kids (344 female and 199 males), 93 were bucks and 192 withers. Average size of flocks was 38.15 animals per household. The production system in the region is extensive with free roaming, sometime heading the animals especially during rainfall where crop activities taking place, and penning the animal at evening, The majority kept indigenous goats and is characterized by 1 to 1.5 kidding a year, occurring all year round.
