It was found out that no feeding and financial records were kept particularly with respect to the amount and quality of feed given to cows and the feed costs. Very few other records on health and breeding were kept
Milk yield was significantly (P0. 05) affected by calving age, season of calving and lactation length. Sire of the dam and year-season effect significantly (P0. 05) affected lactation length. Age at first calving was significantly (P0. 05) affected by year of birth. Averages and standard deviations for milk yield, lactation length, age at first calving; calving interval and dry period were 5653. 26±218 kg, 331±129. 69 days, 28. 8±7 months, 16months and 163. 2 days. It was concluded that record keeping and other management practices particularly feeding and breeding were generally poor, and had effect on productivity of Neudamm Dairy Herd
