Finally, the Hartelust ignimbrite represents the youngest volcanic phase (609+8-15Ma, zircon age) of the Khomas trough. From the stratigraphic classification of the Hartelust ignimbrite to the base of the Kuiseb formation it is apparent that the Matchless Member of the Damara sequence must be seen as being older than the Kuiseb formation
