dc.description.abstract This study looks at the perceptions of librarians, lecturers and staff of the Centre for External Studies [CES] of the University of Namibia on the planned Information and Instructional Resource Centre. A questionnaire was administered to twenty librarians, twenty lecturers and 10 CES staff members. The response rate was 28 (56 per cent) in total from the target groups. The study found that amongst the sample, only the librarians knew about the IIRC concept, but some of them also lack an understanding or were uncertain about the expectations of the planned IIRC. However, the majority of the respondents are aware of the potential of the information and communications technology for enriching teaching and learning at UNAM, and in Namibia as a whole. The study concluded that intensive training is needed for all stakeholders to ensure the smooth running and effective utilization of the IIRC en_US
