dc.description.abstract This study was carried out to find out the state of teachers' morale in the Rundu Educational Region, to obtain from the teachers factors they considered to be important in raising their morale and finally, to determine the extent to which teachers and their organizations were involved in the design and implementation of strategies to raise their morale. A questionnaire which was administered to a sample of 300 primary and secondary school teachers was used to collect the data. The findings revealed that teachers' morale was high, although there were contradictions and inconsistencies between what the teachers said and what seemed to be the perception in the region. The study further revealed that the availability of teaching materials, quality and quantity of school facilities, adequate remuneration, career advancement opportunities and recognition and positive learner academic achievements were important factors in raising teachers' morale. Teachers also reported that they and their organizations were involved in designing and implementing strategies to raise teachers' morale.
