This study examines Zimbabwe’s post‑independence experience with national reconciliation and reconstruction, with a particular focus on policies aimed at reintegrating ex‑combatants and returning exiles into public and private sectors. While the initiatives undertaken were wide‑ranging and innovative, their implementation faced persistent challenges. The study highlights these limitations and cautions that Namibia should critically assess these lessons before attempting to replicate the Zimbabwean model.
