On 24 September 2024, UNAM hosted Dr. Andreas Bovenschulte, Mayor of Bremen and President of the Senate, for a thought-provoking public lecture on Contemporary Leadership in Local Authorities Governance. Highlighting the global significance of municipal leadership, city diplomacy, and decentralised governance, Dr. Bovenschulte reflected on the enduring Bremen-Windhoek partnership and shared insights on navigating complex social, environmental, and administrative challenges. Joined by prominent Namibian leaders and academics, the event reaffirmed the role of local authorities in shaping international collaboration and urban resilience.
